Medical Systems:
- Rasa: Spicy and sweet.
- Veerya: Ushna veerya.
- Vipaka: Katu.
4. Uses:
(Medicinal)
- It is carminative, aromatic, antispasmodic, expectorant
and stimulant in nature when take internally.
- Externally it is rubefacient, local anaesthetic and antiseptic.
- Stimulates and raises blood pressure, skin, salivary glands,
kidneys, liver and bronchial mucous membranes.
- Good for digestion.
- It clears gastric and intestinal disorders.
- It helps in the case of spasm.
- When applied as paste it relives head ache, coryza.
- If we take orally it acts like oral antiseptic and stimulant
to the throat.
- Soothens throat.
- It is used in combination with sugar to promote expectoration
from the lungs.
